Description of the Art and Design

The quality and standard of each singing bowl is checked individually. The bowl etched with a Sanskrit Script ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ has a specific meaning.

Om Mani Padme Hum is a six-syllable Sanskrit mantra written inside and outside, around the wall of the singing bowl. It is an ancient mantra that is related to the bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara.

Here…

  • The first, ‘Om’ is the symbol of pure noble body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.
  • The second, ‘Mani’, means jewel, symbolizes the factors of method: (the) altruistic intention to become enlightened, compassion, and love.
  • The two syllables, “Padme“, meaning lotus, symbolize wisdom.
  • Purification can be gained by an invisible unity of method and wisdom, represented by the word ‘Hum’, which indicates invisibility.

Underneath and down inside a bowl is a Bajra, Mandala, Dorje and other customized design and logo (also offered as per the order).
